Salary converter
Move between hourly, per-check, and annual pay. The convention used everywhere on this site — and the one behind the paycheck calculator's salary mode — is the standard full-time year: 40 hours a week x 52 weeks = 2,080 hours. If your schedule differs (part-time, overtime built in, a 37.5-hour week), set the hours and the hourly figure follows your number, not the convention.
Gross figures, before any withholding. Take the annual or per-check number into the paycheck calculator to see the split.
Biweekly is not twice-a-month
The most common paycheck surprise: biweekly pay means 26 checks a year — two months have three checks — while semi-monthly pay means 24. A $60,000 salary is $2,307.69 a check biweekly but $2,500.00 semi-monthly. The annual total is identical; the budgeting rhythm is not. Withholding follows the same periods: your employer annualizes by the number of checks in the year, which is why the calculator asks for frequency before it asks about your W-4.
