How Ohio withholding works
State form: IT-4.
Ohio's percentage method works per pay period: subtract $650 per exemption (prorated — $12.50 a week each) from the period's wages and apply the period table. Ohio changed its tables mid-year: wages paid January 1 – July 31, 2026 use rates of 1.775%/2.990%/3.640%; wages paid on or after August 1, 2026 use 1.600%/2.990%/3.400%. The current table is the default here; the earlier one is selectable for checking an old stub.

What this page covers — and what it doesn't
State method only in v1. Ohio's ~600 municipal income taxes (administered largely through RITA and CCA, with a resident-city credit matrix) are deferred and are NOT computed here — for most Ohio workers the municipal tax is the bigger local line on the stub.
