How Mississippi withholding works
State form: 89-350.
Mississippi publishes wage-bracket tables only (Publication 89-700) — there is no formula and no worked example. The tables are built from the state's exemption and standard-deduction structure (single: $6,000 exemption + $2,300 standard deduction; head of family $9,500 + $3,400; married $12,000 + $4,600; plus $1,500 per dependent or age-65/blind adder) with 0% on the first $10,000 of taxable income and 4.0% above it. This calculator computes from that structure; at build time it was checked against the printed Table A and reproduces its values at mid-table wages.
