How Georgia withholding works

State form: G-4.

Georgia's percentage method works per pay period: subtract the standard deduction for your status ($30,000 a year married filing jointly; $15,000 single, head of household, or married filing separately) and $5,000 per dependent, prorated to the period, then apply 4.99% — the rate in force since May 11, 2026 (it was 5.19% earlier in 2026, retroactive to January 1).
